Republican Women of Sheridan County Scholarship Program

he Republican Women of Sheridan County (RWSC) seeks to
help women in need to pursue further education after high school. 

RWSC values giving women a hand up and firmly believes that
education is essential to reaching one’s full potential. 

The scholarship program is intended to provide funding for after
high school education or training for women to obtain gainful
employment and self-sufficiency.


This annual scholarship award is intended to provide funds to a registered Republican resident woman of Sheridan County, Wyoming after high school, undergraduate, or graduate graduation to attend a community college, junior college, university, or vocational trade school of her choice.

 The basic scholarship criteria:

1.         Age 18 years or older by April 1.
2.         High school diploma or GED.
3.         Registered Republican.
4.         Female resident of Sheridan County
5.         Planned or current attendance at a community college, junior college, university, or vocational trade school.

The Board will accept applications on or before the due date, and appreciates those individuals that submit prior to the deadline.  All materials must be received by United States mail no or by email later than 5:00 p.m. the day of the deadline.  The Board will not process an incomplete application. Applicans should utilize this web page for detailed information and application forms.  Applicants may also contact a RWSC member to assist in the application process if necessary.  Information concerning the application will be available in area high school and college counseling offices.

Step 1:
Read the Rules to determine what is expected from the applicant.

Step 2:
Consult with a Republican Women of Sheridan County member no later than one month prior to submitting an application.  (Member names: Melinda Brennan, Anita Schamber, Carole Perkins).

Step 3:
Download the Application, complete it and mail it to: Melinda Brennan, 1979 Stadium Dr., Sheridan, WY 82801

The items below are required for any submission:

Attachment 1:               
Completion of the official narrative application form sections A-G (either print and email or complete online);

Attachment 2:               
Three letters of recommendation from persons other than family members who know the applicant well and can speak to the applicant's scholarship, character, school or community involvement, etc. Please ask them to include their contact numbers for a possible follow-up telephone call and confirm sending their letters;

Attachment 3:               
Copy of a most recent official high school or GED, undergraduate, or graduate transcript; and

Attachment 4:               
A one-page typed essay stating the reason why the applicant should be considered for the scholarship.

Applications will be accepted on or before the due date (April 1). RWSC appreciates those that submit prior to the deadline.  The successful applicant will be notified on or before May 10.
